Pres Sez – November 2016

It is hard to believe that November is here again. It has been a very busy fall. In October, Eric Christiansen and I spent several evenings getting the hospitals VHF/UHF radio reprogrammed and operational. Thank you big time Eric.

Then on Oct 20th, Tom and I manned the hospital command center during the Great Shakeout. Tom designed a log page and we both had a successful learning experience as part of the USC  emergency radio team. USC really is moving forward with their amateur radio centered disaster network. It is a work in progress and a pleasant change from the past. More to come on this at the meeting.

This month’s meeting on Nov 10th will feature Eric Christiansen presenting the latest ham radio gear from HRO Burbank. This a become a great holiday tradition.

We will also be discussing the Xmas Party. See below for the flyer and what to bring. As usual, the club will supply the ham and the turkey and fixin’s. Please bring a item (or more) worth $20 to donate to the auction.  Again more to be discussed at the November meeting.  73 Mike KF6KXG
